Privacy Policy

Effective Date: April 23, 2026
Last Updated: April 23, 2026

1. Who We Are

Holiness Witnessor Ministries (“Witnessor,” “we,” “us,” or “our“) is a Texas domestic nonprofit corporation and 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization that operates the Witnessor mobile application (the “App“).

  • Legal Name: Holiness Witnessor Ministries
  • Texas File Number: 806306541
  • Mailing Address: 1411 Northeast Stallings Drive, Nacogdoches, Texas 75961, United States
  • Privacy Contact: [email protected]

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect from users of the App, how we use it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over your information.

2. Scope

This policy applies to personal information we collect through the App and any related services. It does not apply to third-party websites, applications, or services that may be linked from within the App.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

When you sign in or use the App, you may provide us with:

  • Phone number — required to sign in via one-time SMS verification code (OTP).
  • First name — required to personalize your experience.
  • Optional profile information — country, city, year of birth, gender, and spiritual status (e.g., seeking, saved, sanctified). You may skip any of these fields.

3.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device identifier — an anonymous, randomly generated ID stored locally on your device and used for anonymized headcount and usage metrics.
  • App activity — content you view, reading/listening progress, downloaded items, and in-app preferences (for example, Bible translation, font size, theme).
  • Technical information — operating system version, device model, app version, and crash diagnostics when errors occur.

3.3 Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect precise geolocation, contacts, photos, microphone audio, biometric identifiers, or payment information through the App. The App currently contains no advertising networks and no third-party analytics or marketing SDKs.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information described above to:

  1. Authenticate you via phone-based one-time passcode.
  2. Provide access to Bibles, devotionals, ebooks, audiobooks, reading plans, and related content.
  3. Save your progress, preferences, and library state so they persist across sessions and devices.
  4. Improve the App through aggregated, non-identifying usage analytics.
  5. Respond to your questions, support requests, and feedback.
  6. Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

We process your personal information on the following legal bases (where GDPR applies):

  • Contract — to provide the App’s services you request.
  • Legitimate interest — to secure the App, prevent abuse, and improve functionality.
  • Consent — where you opt in to optional features (such as future SMS, push, or email messaging).
  • Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to comply with applicable law.

5. How We Share Your Information

We share personal information only with the following categories of recipients:

5.1 Service Providers (Sub-processors)

Provider Purpose Location
Supabase, Inc. Authentication, user profile database, media storage United States
Cloudflare, Inc. (R2) Media content delivery (audio, ebooks) Global edge network
SMS/OTP provider (via Supabase) Delivery of one-time sign-in codes United States

Each provider is contractually required to process your information only for the purposes we specify and to safeguard it with appropriate technical and organizational measures.

5.2 Legal and Safety

We may disclose information to comply with a subpoena, court order, or other legal process; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Witnessor, our users, or the public; or to investigate suspected fraud, abuse, or security incidents.

5.3 Successors

If Witnessor’s ministry operations are transferred, consolidated, or reorganized, personal information may be transferred to the successor entity subject to this policy.

5.4 We Do Not Sell Your Information

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA).

6. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App. When you request deletion of your account, we will delete or de-identify your personal information within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law, necessary for security or fraud prevention, or necessary to resolve disputes.

Anonymous device identifiers and aggregated analytics may be retained indefinitely because they are not linked to an identified individual.

7. International Transfers

The App is operated from the United States. If you access the App from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to, stored in, and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. Where required by law, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards for transfers of personal information out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:

8.1 All Users

  • Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your account and associated personal information.

8.2 Users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland (GDPR)

In addition to the rights above, you may have the right to:

  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Request portability of your information in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

8.3 Residents of California (CCPA/CPRA)

California residents may request:

  • Disclosure of the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected.
  • Disclosure of the categories of sources, purposes, and third parties with whom we share information.
  • Deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions.
  • The right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

California residents may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on their behalf, subject to verification.

8.4 How to Exercise Your Rights

Email [email protected] with the subject line “Privacy Request.” We will verify your identity (typically by confirming ownership of the phone number on your account) and respond within the period required by applicable law (generally 30 days under GDPR and 45 days under CCPA/CPRA).

9. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed to children under 13 years of age, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the App or provide any personal information. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact [email protected] and we will delete the information promptly.

Users between 13 and the age of majority in their jurisdiction should use the App only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian.

10. Security

We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption of data in transit (TLS), encryption of data at rest with our cloud providers, row-level access controls in our database, and principle-of-least-privilege access for staff. No method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

11. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The App is a native mobile application and does not use browser cookies. We do use local device storage (for example, MMKV) to persist your preferences, progress, and sign-in state on your device.

12. Third-Party Links and Content

The App may contain links to third-party scripture resources, devotional content, or external websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before providing any information.

13. Future Messaging

As of the Effective Date, the App does not send marketing SMS, push notifications, or email. If we introduce such messaging in the future, we will obtain your express opt-in consent and you will be able to revoke that consent at any time from within the App’s settings.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will post the updated policy in the App, update the “Last Updated” date above, and — where required by law — provide additional notice (for example, by requiring re-acceptance on your next sign-in). Your continued use of the App after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
